India has welcomed the understanding for the meeting to be held between the US and Russia in Alaska on Saturday (August 9, 2025). In fact, US President Donald Trump has announced that he will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday (August 15, 2025) on Friday (August 15, 2025) to end the Russia-Ukraine war. The Indian Foreign Ministry issued a statement citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement saying, “This is not the era of war.”
Ministry of External Affairs issued statement about meeting between US-Russia
The Ministry of External Affairs said, “India welcomes the understanding for the meeting to be held in Alaska on Friday (August 15, 2025) between the US and the Russian Union. The meeting promises to end the ongoing struggle in Ukraine and open the possibilities of peace. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said on many occasions that it is not a war of war.”
Putin will visit the first America after 2015
Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit the US for the first time since 2015 to hold a meeting with US President Donald Trump in Alaska, a state in the United States Alaska. Earlier, Putin met the then US President Barack Obama during his US visit in 2015.
Trump announces a meeting to be held with Putin
President Trump said in a post on social media platform Truth Social Social, “After a long wait between me and Russian President Vladimir Putin, there will be a meeting in Alaska, the great state of America next Friday (August 15, 2025).
