Gulshan Kumar, who was called the ‘Cassette King’ of the Indian music industry, was shot dead in broad daylight on 12 August 1997. While returning from the temple, the death of Gulshan Kumar, who was riddled with 16 bullets, shook the whole country, but a revelation related to this high-profile murder case revealed, which blows everyone’s senses. What is the whole thing.
Police already had news of this murder
A shocking codeword associated with the murder of Gulshan Kumar has been revealed in the book ‘Let Me Se It Now’ by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria. In the book, he told that he had received information through intelligence sources before the murder of Gulshan Kumar.
When Maria asked her news, ‘Who is going to drop the wicket?’, I got the answer, ‘Abu Salem. ‘Here’ the ‘wicket dropping’ means that the murder was done and Abu Salem was the 90s underworld don. It became clear from Khabri’s reply that the plan to kill Gulshan Kumar had already been made at the behest of Abu Salem.
Juice seller became owner of big company
Let us know that Gulshan Kumar, born on 5 May 1956 in Daryaganj, Delhi, was an ardent devotee of Vaishno Devi and Lord Shiva. His father used to run a juice shop on the streets of Delhi and Gulshan started working with his father at an early age. But the passion for music took him in a different direction.
He brought revolution through devotional songs in the music industry. Gulshan Kumar, who sold cassettes at a cheaper price and transporting devotional music to every household, made T-Series a music empire and this rapidly growing success and money brought him to the underworld.
What was the reason behind the murder of Gulshan Kumar?
Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria has mentioned the entire incident in his book. He wrote that Khabri had already provided intelligence to the police and told that Abu Salem will attack Gulshan Kumar near the Shiva temple, after which he asked, ‘Is the news confirmed?’ In response to this, Khabri said, ‘Sir, the news is absolutely confirmed, otherwise why would I tell you’
Maria further wrote that after getting this information on the phone, he started wondering what to do. On the second day of getting information from Khabri, he called Bollywood producer-director Mahesh Bhatt and asked him if he recognizes Gulshan Kumar?
At first, Mahesh Bhatt was shocked by his call in the morning, but he replied that ‘Yes, I recognize Gulshan Kumar, I am directing one of his films’. Along with this, Bhatt also confirmed that Gulshan Kumar goes to the Shiva temple in the morning.
On August 12, 1997, it was exactly the same as Khabri told. Gulshan Kumar had come out after visiting the Shiva temple that he was shifted to the bullets. Rakesh Maria also admitted in his book that he still regrets that despite he had information, he could not stop that murder.
Abu Salem had demanded Rs 5 lakh from Gulshan Kumar in forcibly recovery, which was rejected by Gulshan Kumar. He had said, ‘I will donate this money to the temple, but I will not give you guys.’ This refusal took him to death.
The murder of Gulshan Kumar shook the country, but his legacy is still intact. His son Bhushan Kumar has included T-Series among the world’s largest music brands, while daughters Tulsi and Khushali are also active in music and film world.
