India has given a befitting reply on Thursday (August 14, 2025) regarding the anti-India statements being given by Pakistan. India warned Pakistan that it would have to suffer painful and serious consequences of any wrong step.
The Ministry of External Affairs (Mea) has termed these statements of Pakistan as a well-known strategy, which aims to create an anti-India environment and distract everyone’s attention from its failures.
India warns on Pakistan’s rhetoric

Shahbaz Sharif threatened India

This statement of Pakistan came after India’s decision to suspend the 1960 Indus Water Agreement.
During a ceremony in Islamabad, Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif said, “If you threaten to stop our water, you cannot snatch a drop of water from Pakistan. If India tries to do something like this, he will be taught a lesson.” Pakistan has repeatedly claimed that the action of war will be considered to prevent water from flowing in Pakistan.

Prior to the statement of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, from Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari to former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto made anti-India statements. He compared the suspension of the Indus Water Agreement with an attack on the Indus Valley Civilization and warned that if we were forced to war, Pakistan would not back down.
