The Best Employee Co-operative Credit Society was held on Monday (August 18). The special thing about this election was that Uddhav Thackeray’s party Shiv Sena (UBT) and Raj Thackeray’s MNS fought together. Both parties together formed a panel named ‘Utkarsh’ and landed 21 candidates. Uddhav faction 18, Raj Thackeray’s party had two and one candidate was from the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Association. According to the news agency PTI, the votes will be counted on Tuesday (August 19).
Election amid speculation of Thackeray Brothers’ alliance
This election has been held at a time when there is speculation about the political alliance between Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray. Municipal corporation elections are to be held in Maharashtra. The leaders of Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS said that the two leaders do not have much penetration in Best but this election gave the two parties an opportunity to come together.
How many panels in the field?
BJP’s MLC Prasad Lad made a panel called ‘Sahakar Samriddhi’ for the best employee co-operative credit society election. An official said that there are some five panels in this election in which one panel is also of Shashank Rao. Apart from this, a union who has a union of Shiv Sena led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is also in the fray.
Who is dominating?
Members of Best Employees Co-operative Credit Society Limited are its current and former employees. It has more than 15000 members and has been dominating the Best Worker Army associated with the Shiv Sena (UBT) led by Uddhav Thackeray for years.
Everyone’s eyes on BMC elections?
Please tell that the formal alliance between Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray has not been announced yet. But on August 15, Shiv Sena UBT Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut had said that the two brothers together will contest the municipal elections together in Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivali and Nashik. Everyone is eyeing the Mumbai Municipal Corporation i.e. BMC elections.
