Indian Railways takes millions of passengers from one place to another every day. Railways continue to take new steps to make the convenience and journey of the passengers organized. Now the railway is preparing to implement such a rule, so that the train journey will also be under the luggage limit like a flight. That is, passengers may have to pay additional fees if they carry more goods than the fixed limit.

Just as baggage rules apply at the airport, similarly this system will also be applicable in trains. However, Railways had already made luggage rules. But they were not fully implemented. There is currently no machine to check the weight of luggage at stations. But now machines will be installed under this rule. Know how much items will be able to carry in which coach of the train.

In which coach can you take how much items?

Indian Railways has set a limit of goods for different coaches. If you are traveling in AC First Class, then you can carry up to 70 kg of goods without any extra charge. At the same time, this limit in AC second class is 50 kg. Passengers traveling in third AC and sleeper class can keep up to 40 kg of goods. This limit has been fixed at 35 kg for general class. On the other hand, if a passenger carries more goods than the limit. So you may have to pay extra charge. The aim of this rule is that the burden in trains should not increase and there can be correct arrangements for the place for all.

Penalty will have to be imposed for crossing limit

During the journey in the train, if you carry more goods than fixed limits. So for this you will have to pay a fine or extra charge. According to railway rules, passengers can take additional goods up to 10 kg according to their class. But if this limit also crosses. Then it will be necessary to make the goods from the luggage booking counter. If this is not done then you will have to pay a fine and the booking charge separately. Explain that electric luggage machines will be installed at the station to check the weight limit of the same.

Rules will be applicable to these stations

Indian Railways has currently decided to implement new luggage rules to select stations of Lucknow and Prayagraj division. It has included big stations like Prayagraj, Prayagraj Chhiwki, Subedarganj, Mirzapur, Banaras, Kanpur, Govindpuri, Aligarh, Tundla, Etawah and Lucknow Charbagh.
