But England has given a new look to franchise cricket, where such rules have been made that not 6 but five balls are thrown in one over. This is none other than the ‘The Hundred’ League, in which four IPL franchisees are also participating this season. Recently, four IPL teams have bought at least 49 percent stake in The Hundred teams.
This league is the most unique
In cricket, 6 balls have been thrown in one over for decades, but The Hundred League has only five balls in one over. The captain also has a special choice, because he can get the same bowler to 10 consecutive balls, which will be counted 2 overs. Actually, in T20 matches, there is a game of 20 overs i.e. 120 balls, but in The Hundred League, an innings is only 100 balls.
The captain has to decide that he wants to get his bowler 5 or 10 consecutive balls. The side changes the side after every over in a common cricket match, but the side is changed after every 10 balls in this league. In a T20 match, a bowler can throw a maximum of 4 overs i.e. 24 balls, but in The Hundred League, a bowler is allowed to score just 20 balls. Powerplay is of 25 balls and during this time only 2 fielders can live outside the 30-yard circle.
Coach can come in the field
Usually during international matches, coaches come on the field very rarely to talk about strategy. However, there is no such rule that prevent the coach from coming on the field during the match. In The Hundred League, a rule has been made for coaches that they can come inside the ground during the time-out talking about the strategy.
Let us tell you that four IPL franchisees are also playing in The Hundred League. Mumbai Indians have taken a stake in the Oval Invisables. The owner of Sunrisers Hyderabad has bought a stake in Northern Super Charges, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants bought a stake in Manchester Organizations.
