The Indian player who had scored a half -century in the debut test against England, will now change the team, which team will play for which team

Hanuma Vihari, who is known for a combative innings at the Sydney Cricket Ground in 2021 against Australia, has decided to leave Andhra Pradesh in the domestic season of 2025-26 and play for Tripura.

Vihari told on social media that he has signed a contract with Tripura as one of the three professional players for the 2025-26 season. He will represent Tripura in all three formats.

Thirty-one-year-old Vihari wrote on ‘X’, “After deliberations I have decided to join Tripura Cricket Association where I will represent the state in all three formats of the game.”

He said, “I am grateful to him for the role played by Andhra Cricket Association in my journey so far, but I believe that now the time of a platform has come better with my aspirations and gives me an opportunity to contribute to all formats.”

Vihari said, “I am excited for this new challenge and am fully committed to give my best in the next phase.”

Vihari, who scored a half -century in the Oval debut test in 2018 against England, defeated the match against Australia by making an unbreakable partnership with Ravichandran Ashwin, who retired in 2021 when India was in trouble after losing five wickets for 272 runs chasing a huge target of 407 runs.

India managed to draw a match in Sydney and then won the series with a win in the next Test in Brisbane.

Vihari scored 839 runs in 16 Tests at an average of 33.56 with 111 runs. In first -class cricket, he has scored more than 9500 runs at an average of 49.92 with the help of 24 centuries in 131 matches so far, with his highest score 302 runs.
