While hearing the petition of the suspended Under Engineer for 10 minutes during the program of the Energy Minister in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, the Allahabad High Court has said that the order to suspend the petitioner without fixing any accountability was issued to cover the things.
The court has asked the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Department to reconsider the petitioner’s suspension order.
While disposing of the writ petition filed on behalf of Under Engineer Lalit Kumar, Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamshery made this comment based on the statement of the lawyer of the electricity department. The department’s lawyer said that the Managing Director of Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam will reconsider the matter.
It is noteworthy that during a program of Energy Minister in Moradabad on July 20, the power was lost for 10 minutes and after 10 minutes the power supply was restored. Subsequently, Under Engineer Lalit Kumar was suspended on charges of negligence in the case. The petitioner challenged the suspension order in the High Court.
The petitioner’s counsel said that the order of suspension was issued only to hide the flaws of the department. In this order, no accountability has been mentioned on the petitioner.
At the same time, the lawyer of the electricity department said that he has received the reply from the department that the concerned officials will see the matter again and there is every possibility that the order of suspension should be reconsidered.
Realizing the assurance given by the defendant electricity department in the record, the court said in its order on August 25 that if the government does not meet its assurance, the petitioner will have the freedom to knock the door of this court.
