The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken a big decision regarding the 10th and 12th board examinations to be held in the year 2025-26. Now it has been made mandatory for the students to have immense ID to sit in the examination. That is, students who do not have this digital ID, will not be able to appear in the board examination.
This instruction is included in the guidelines sent by CBSE to schools, which are compulsory to follow the List of Candidates (LOC). Actually, every year schools have to send the data of their students to CBSE before conducting board examination. On this basis, admit cards are made and the examination process is decided.
When and how will Loc will gather?
The board has instructed all schools to submit LOC through online medium from 29 August to 30 September 2025. At the same time, those who deposit delays from 3 to 11 October 2025 will have to complete this process with late fee. The board has clearly stated that the last date for depositing Loc and fees will be the same, that is, it is necessary to submit both form and fees on time.
Only those students will be able to sit in the 2026 board examination, whose name will be included in the LoC. Therefore, schools have been asked to ensure that they should carefully examine the names, date of birth, gender, category and guardian of the students and send it to the board only.
Why was immense ID necessary?
- This time CBSE has decided to connect Loc with immense ID. The immense ID is a digital identity of 12 digits launched by the Government of India, in which the entire academic record of students is recorded digitally.
- Under this, marksheets, degrees, certificates, scholarships, prizes and other educational achievements of students are preserved. That is, students should study anywhere with immense ID, their educational history will be available on the same platform.
- CBSE believes that this step will not only ensure transparency of identity but will also prevent the disturbances related to exams and results in future.
