A shocking news has come out from Papua New Guinea, a small island in the north of Australia. Papua New Guinea’s cricketer Kipling Doriga has been found guilty in the case of robbery. The incident took place on Monday, August 25 in St. Heliers area. These days, the Cricket World Cup Challenge League is being played in Papua New Guinea, whose second round matches Doriga got a place in the Papua New Guinea team.
Kipling Doriga was produced in the magistrate court on Wednesday morning, where he was convicted. The magistrate considered the matter very serious for the private court, due to which he has sent the case to the Royal Court. Doriga is to be produced on November 28 in the Royal Court. Kipling’s petition has been dismissed, at present, he will have to be in the custody of Papua New Guinea Police.
Kipping Doriga has played two World Cups
Kipling Doriga has played 2021 and 2024 T20 World Cup for Papua New Guinea. He has played 97 international matches for his country’s national team. He has scored 730 runs in 39 ODIs and has 359 runs in 43 T20 matches. As a wicketkeeper, he has also stumped 11 stumps with 49 catches in his international career. Talking about the Cricket World Cup Challenge League, Papua New Guinea had to face defeat against Jersey on 28 August.
