If you have started a job in a new company and the money of PF (Provident Fund) from your old company has not been transferred yet, then it can be a matter of great concern. Nowadays it is common to change the job, but it is equally important to take PF account along. PF account creates a strong fund for your retirement, which also gets interest every month. If PF transfer is not done, then it can affect your interest, tax benefits and later on extracting funds. In such a situation, let us know that if PF is not being transferred, then why this happens, what is the solution and where to complain.
What are the reasons for PF transfer?
1. Date of Exit Lack of EXIT – If your old company has not updated the date of exit correctly, then PF will not be automatically transferred.
2. To be two UAN number – Many times people have more than one UAN number. This causes problems in PF transfer.
3. KYC details not updated – If your Aadhaar, PAN or bank account is not updated correctly, PF transfer may stuck.
4. Not depositing funds – Some companies do not deposit the amount of PF on time, due to which it is not transferred.
How to transfer PF?
Now the process of PF transfer has been completely online. For this, EPFO’s website or https://unifiedportal-mm.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
log onto. After this, go to Online Services and choose One Member One EPF Account (Transfer Request) option. Then fill the details of the old company and fill Form 13. Choose verification from one of the new company or old company. After submitting, it is transferred to 10 to 20 working days.
If PF is not being transferred, where and how to complain?
If you are not transferring PF, you can file a complaint and there are many ways –
1. Enter a complaint on EPFIGMS portal – Go to https://epfigms.gov.in and file a complaint. Complain online by filling your UAN, PF account number, details etc. here.
2. Send email – You can also complain via email if you do not have PF transfer. Complain by going to Employeefeedback@ePfindia.gov.in.
3. EPFO toll -free helpline – If you are not transferring PF, then you can also file a complaint on EPFO’s toll-free helpline number 14470 or 1800-118-005. You can file your complaint or take updates by calling here.
