Born in Naradevi area of Kathmandu on 27 April 1990, Balen Shah comes from a Madhesi family of Maithil origin. His father Ram Narayan Shah has been an Ayurvedic doctor and mother Dhruvadvi Shah is a homemaker. Balen’s father was originally from Mahotari district of Madhesh Pradesh, but he had to come to Kathmandu due to his job. This is the reason that Balen’s childhood was spent in the capital atmosphere.
Top in studies since childhood
Balen Shah studied his early V.S. of Kathmandu. Niketan did from Higher Secondary School. From school days, he was considered sharp in studies and was deeply interested in subjects like Mathematics and Science. Friends say that Balen always had different thinking in class and looked at the questions from a new perspective.
Graduate in civil engineering
According to reports, after completing school, he chose the path of engineering. Balen studied Civil Engineering (BE) from Himalayan Whitehouse International College. During his studies, he started taking interest in society issues and started expressing his opinion among the youth. This was the time when Balen’s personality was not limited to only one student, but started emerging as a young man.
Post graduation done from India
After completing graduation studies, Balen turned to India for higher education. He earned a master’s degree in Structural Engineering (MTEC) from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) of Karnataka.
Also identified as rapper and artist
Balen Shah’s career was not limited to engineering only. He worked as an engineer in his professional life, but his association with the youth and the ability to raise the problems of the society led him to politics. Balen is also identified as a rapper and artist in Nepal. Through his songs, he put forward social and political issues.
