Navjot Singh, a senior finance official who lost in a BMW car collision near Dhaula Kuan in Delhi, was cremated on Tuesday (September 16) in the presence of family members and relatives. At the same time, the police said that alcohol was not confirmed in the blood sample of the main accused Gaganpreet. Navjot Singh’s body was first taken to Venkateswara Hospital in Dwarka, where his wife injured in the accident is being treated. After family members paid tribute to the hospital, the body was brought to his residence in Hari Nagar and was later taken for the last rites.

The motorcycle of Deputy Secretary Navjot Singh in the Economic Affairs Department of the Finance Ministry was hit by a BMW car on Sunday afternoon. He was returning home from Gurdwara Bangla Sahib with his wife. He died in this incident, while his wife is seriously injured. Police said Gaganpreet, who was driving the car during the incident, was accompanied by her husband, two children and a domestic assistant. Accused Gaganpreet arrested on 15 September
According to the police, Gaganpreet’s blood test report confirmed that she was not drunk during the accident. After being discharged from the hospital, he was arrested on Monday and later sent to judicial custody by a city court.
A case has been registered under Section 281 (fast -paced vehicle) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS), 125B (endangering others’ life or personal security), 105 (non -intentional murder) and 238 (eradicating evidence).
Police is searching CCTV footage
The accident occurred near the Delhi Cantonment Metro Station, where there is a lot of movement of vehicles. Police said that further investigation is going on to find out the cause of the accident, including whether the car was being driven due to negligence. She is searching CCTV footage and taking statements of eyewitnesses.
Gaganpreet’s husband hurt nose bone
Meanwhile, police sources said Gaganpreet’s husband Parikshit has been referred to a special orthopedic hospital due to nasal bone injury. A police official said, “After being discharged from the hospital, we will also interrogate Parikshit.”
