A shocking incident has come to light in Vijaypura district of Karnataka, where three masked miscreants attacked the Chadchan branch of the State Bank of India and looted a huge amount of cash and gold. According to the police, these criminals were armed with indigenous pistols and knives. These people took the bank staff hostage and carried out the robbery of cash and gold jewelery worth more than Rs 20 crore and escaped. The incident took place around 6.30 pm on Tuesday evening.
Loot of about 21 crores
In the bank, the crooks came as an excuse to open an current account and then threatened the manager, cashier and other employees at the tip of pistols and knives. After this, he tied the hands and feet of the staff and escaped from the spot by robbing cash and about 20 kg of gold jewelery. Police said that the amount of looted cash is about one crore rupees, while the weight of gold jewelery has been estimated at about 20 kg and about 20 crore rupees.

Police registered a case
Vijaypura Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi said that a case has been registered on the complaint of the bank manager. Police teams are actively looking for criminals. Initial investigation has revealed that the accused used the car, which had a fake number plate. After executing the incident, the accused took a way to flee to Pandharpur in Maharashtra. The Superintendent of Police said, “The investigation is still going on and every possible effort is being made to catch the accused.”
Second incident of big bank robbery in Karnataka
This bank robbery is being considered as second major incident in Vijaypura district of Karnataka. Earlier in June 2025, there was a robbery in Canara Bank branch located in Managuli village of Vijaypura. At that time, the miscreants had robbed 59 kg from the bank and looted Rs 5.2 lakh cash. The police arrested 3 prominent suspects, including a bank manager in this case. Investigation revealed that former manager Vijaykumar Miriyal was the mastermind behind the Canara Bank robbery.
