The result of NTPC Graduate Level CBT-1, one of the largest recruitment examinations of Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), has now been released. On 19 September 2025, RRB officially declared the results. The wait for millions of candidates finally ended and now everyone can check and download their result by visiting the website of RRB.
Millions of youth had participated in this examination because a large number of posts were taken out at both graduate and undergraduate levels in this recruitment. The graduate level includes posts like Station Master, Chief Commercial and Ticket Supervisor, Goods Train Manager, Junior Accounts Assistant and Typist, Senior Clerk and Typist. At the undergraduate level, jobs like commercial and ticket clerks, accounts clerk and typist, junior clerk and train clerk are to be given at the level. There was a huge competition for recruitment to these posts.
As soon as the result is released, the most discussed is about the cutoff. The cutoff depends on different reasons every time. This includes how many candidates are sitting in the examination, how many seats are available, how difficult the paper was, how was the performance of the topper and the rules related to reservation. This is the reason why cutoffs are different for different categories.
So many marks are necessary
Railways have also cleared the minimum qualifying points this time. 40 percent marks are required for general category and EWS candidates. This limit has been kept 30 percent for the OBC category. At the same time, Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates will have to get 30 percent marks to pass and Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates will have to get 25 percent marks. Those candidates who score above these minimum marks will be selected for the next phase i.e. CBT-2.
What will happen next?
Now that the result of CBT-1 has been released, the next big challenge is CBT-2 exam. The Railway Recruitment Board has also fixed its date. The CBT-2 examination will be held on 13 October 2025. It will have a total of 120 questions which will be given 90 minutes to the candidates to solve it. Questions in this exam will be asked from three subjects. General Awareness, Mathematics and Reasoning. This means that the candidates should now start preparing for the second phase without losing time.
