Former wicketkeeper batsman of the Indian cricket team Dinesh Karthik will once again be seen playing in the foreign league. Last year, Karthik played in South Africa’s SAT20 League. Now Karthik will be seen playing in the International T20 League i.e. LT20. He will be part of the team of Sharjah Warriors in this league. Karthik has replaced Sri Lankan wicketkeeper batsman Kusal Mendis in the Warriors team. The coach of this team is former South African cricketer JP Duminy.
On joining this league, Dinesh Karthik said, “I am very excited to join the Sharjah Warriors team for the DP World ILT20 tournament. I know that he is a young team and whatever desires to do something special. I am happy to come here. Sharjah is also one of the prestigious stadiums where everyone wants to play. The dream is like coming true. “
This will be the second foreign T20 league for Dinesh Karthik. He has earlier been a part of SA20’s team Parl Royals in South Africa. For Royals, he scored 97 runs in six innings. Karthik is also the batting coach of IPL 2025 Champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
In RCB, Karthik worked closely with Tim David of Australia, one of the foreign players of Sharjah Warriors. Warriors’ head coach Duminy said, “Dinesh Karthik is one of the most experienced players and has mastered T20 cricket. I am very excited to find him in his team for the upcoming session of DP World ILT20.”
Dinesh Karthik has 7437 runs in 412 T20 matches. During this time, he has scored 35 half -centuries with runs scoring runs from a strike of 136.66. He has scored 686 runs in 60 T20 Internationals for India at 142.61 strike rate.
