Another innocent has died in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh. After which the death toll of children has increased to 10. Innocent Yogita lost his life due to kidney failure. The girl was going on in Nagpur for a week. On the other hand, former CM and senior Congress leader Kamal Nath has demanded a compensation of Rs 50-50 for the families of the children, calling it a man-made tragedy.

Former CM Kamal Nath wrote on X, “So far 10 children have died in Chhindwara after drinking poisonous cuff syrup. In this hour of grief, my feelings are with the afflicted families. But it has to be remembered that it is not just an accident but a man -made tragedy. I demand from the Madhya Pradesh government that the families of each dead child should be given compensation of Rs 50 lakh.

Government should bear the entire cost of treatment of sick children-Kamalnath

He further wrote, “The children who are still unwell are getting information about them that they are bear the cost of treatment from them and there is no proper assistance from the government. The Madhya Pradesh government is urged that the government should bear the entire cost of treatment of all sick children. The government should pay attention to what kind of medicines are being sold in the state. There is a need to campaign on a large scale against fake and poisonous medicines so that such tragedy is not seen again in the state.

Ban in Coldrif Cuff Syrup MP

Investigation by the Tamil Nadu government has revealed that the quantity of toxic substances in this cold cup syrup was very high. He was nothing short of poison for children. After this report, the Mohan Yadav government has banned syrup in Madhya Pradesh. Also, action has been said against the culprits.

Cuff Syrup more than limit

State Food and Drug Controller MP Dinesh Kumar Maurya said, “Colddrif syrup is currently banned in Madhya Pradesh. Cuff syrup has more than the limit. A 0.1 % deg may be added to the syrup while the report found that 48.6 % Deg was in Coldrif Syrup. Doctors do not give cold syrup nor do people buy syrup of this company.

Local supply of cuff syrup in Chhindwara

According to the information, the sample of the syrup was sent to the lab of Tamil Nadu for testing, on the basis of the investigation report, colddrif syrup has now been banned. The retailer of Jabalpur and the local supply in Chhindwara is being investigated. The entire matter has been taken seriously and guidelines have been issued to the officials concerned across the state. Investigation is currently going on.
