Physics’s Nobel Prize was announced on Tuesday (7 October 2025) in Sweden. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced the names of the winners at 3:15 pm. This year Physics’s Nobel Prize has been received by John Clarke of America, Michael Dever, John Martinis. Announcing the award, the effects of Quantum Mechanism were explained.
These scientists made this discovery
This year’s Nobel Prize winners conducted experiments with an electrical circuit, in which they performed both quantum mechanical tunnel and quantized energy levels in a system that was worth holding in hand. This discovery will help further understand quantum technology including quantum cryptography, quantum computers and quantum sensors.
Quantum mechanics usually apply to very small particles (electrons). Their behavior is called microscopic, as they are so small that they are not even visible from the normal microscope, but now these scientists have discovered quantum tunling and energy levels on large scale (macroscopic) in electric circuits for the first time.

118 scientists received prizes in Physics so far
According to Nobelprise.com ORG, 118 scientists have been awarded Physics Awards since 1901. Among them, the youngest winners were 25 -year -old Lawrence Brag (1915), while 96 -year -old Arthur Ashkin (2018) was the oldest scientist to receive this honor. The first Indians who were rewarded in this category were Sir CV Raman. He was given this honor in 1930. His discovery had told that when the light collides with a substance, its color can change. This is called Raman Effect.
This discovery is used in laser and medical techniques today. At the same time, the second Indian -origin American scientist Subrahmanyam Chandrashekhar was. He was honored in 1983 for the discovery of the life and death of stars (stars). He told that big stars can finally become black holes. Nobel prizes are given in various categories from 6 to 13 October.
When will the Nobel Prize be given?
On 6 October 2025, Mary E. BRCO, Fred Ramsdel and Shimon Sakaguchi have been given for medicine. They have been given this prize for research conducted in the field of peripheral immune tolerance. The winner will get 11 million Swedish Krona (Rs 10.3 crore), gold medal and certificate. If more than one scientist wins, then this prize money is divided between them. The awards will be given in Stockholm on 10 December.
