Senior IPS officer of Haryana Police Y Puran Kumar allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday (07 October). His wife’s name is Amneet P Kumar. Amneet is also an IAS officer of Haryana cadre. He is currently posted as Commissioner and Secretary of Foreign Cooperation Department. At this time Amneet P Kumar has gone on a tour of Japan with Haryana CM Naib Singh Saini. A delegation led by the Chief Minister is on a tour of Japan.
IAS Amneet P Kumar has taken over the responsibility of many important departments like Health, Finance and Industrial Development. She has been an MA in history from Punjab University. Along with this, IIT is a PhD degree holder in Health Economics from Madras.
IPS Y Puran Kumar shot suicide by shooting
IPS officer Y Puran Kumar, posted as ADGP in Haryana, allegedly shot himself at his residence in Chandigarh Sector-11. According to the information, in the afternoon on Tuesday (October 07), the police received information that Y Puran Kumar committed suicide in the government house in Chandigarh Sector-11.
IPS officer’s body was sent for postmortem
After receiving the information, the police immediately reached the spot. After this, the police sealed the IPS government house and then the team of forensic experts were called for investigation. According to the information, preliminary investigation has revealed that IPS Y Puran Kumar shot himself with his license revolver. At present, the police have taken the body of the IPS officer in its possession and sent it for postmortem.
Y Puran Kumar posted in police training college
Y Puran Kumar was a senior IPS officer of Haryana cadre and was currently posted in the Police Training College. He had experience of working in many important positions in the State Police. However, according to officials, the cause of the incident has not been known. The police is investigating the case from all the angles.
