Who is 28 year old Alexander Wang, on whom Zuckerberg played a bet, spent 14 billion dollars and made him superintelligence chief?

Meta Hired Alexander Wang: In today’s rapidly changing technological world, big companies like Microsoft, Google, Apple and Meta are investing heavily in Artificial Intelligence (AI). With the advent of AI, the picture of the IT industry is going to change completely. In this direction, Facebook’s parent company Meta has taken a big decision — the company has appointed 28-year-old Alexander Wang as its new AI officer and Chief Officer of Meta Superintelligence Labs.

$14 billion investment in Wang’s startup

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has invested more than $14 billion in Wang’s startup. Not only this, he has also made Wang the head of Meta’s entire AI operation. Now Wang is leading a team of the world’s best technical experts under the Meta Superintelligence Program, whose goal is to develop “Superintelligent AI systems” of the future.

According to Bloomberg’s report, Wang said in an internal memo – “Superintelligence is coming. If we want to take it seriously, we will have to organize ourselves around key areas like research, product and infrastructure.” It is clear from his statement that Meta is now moving rapidly towards becoming not just a social media platform but an AI-driven tech giant.

Who is Alexander Wang?

Alexander Wang’s journey has been very inspiring. In 2016, when he was just 19 years old, he founded a startup called Scale AI along with his friend Lucy Guo. Both of them worked day and night under extremely difficult conditions – sleeping on air mattresses, constantly experimenting and making their dream come true with limited resources. His hard work paid off and Scale AI soon became a leading company in the field of AI training data.

New strategy in meta – team restructuring

After joining Meta, Wang has started restructuring the company’s AI department. They have divided the entire AI team into four different groups so that each group can work at its full capacity on its focus area — research, product development, infrastructure and innovation.

This move by Meta is an indication that the company is now moving beyond “social networks” and preparing for the era of superintelligence. Alexander Wang, who made his name in Silicon Valley with his startup at the age of 19, is now shaping the technology that will define the future. Meta’s vision is no longer just about connecting people, but about building bridges between human and machine thinking — and Alexander Wang is at the center of this journey.
