World politics is changing rapidly since US President Donald Trump came to power. Meanwhile, Russia has directly threatened countries thinking of conducting nuclear tests. Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov on Wednesday (October 8, 2025) took aim at America and said that if any country takes a destabilizing decision by conducting nuclear tests, we will give a befitting reply.
‘Will take immediate retaliatory action’
Sergei Ryabkov said, “Washington has long kept the infrastructure for nuclear tests in a state of readiness for war. They are in our sight. If any decision is taken to destabilize, we will immediately retaliate. We noted this stance some time ago when Russia took a decision regarding the New START Treaty (New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty).
‘Russia can do without America’
He said that Russia has not received any formal response from the US on President Vladimir Putin’s proposal to continue following the sanctions included in New START. Ryabkov said that if Washington is not interested in this proposal, then Moscow can do without America’s reaction.
Relations between Russia and America are going through a very tense period due to the ongoing war in Ukraine. After coming back to power, Trump wants to end this war as soon as possible, but Russia wants to end this war on its own terms. First there was talk between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin regarding this issue and then both the leaders met in Alaska. At that time, from Trump’s statement it seemed that a solution to this war would be found in a few days, but Putin remained adamant on his demand.
