Snowfall continues in the mountains and higher areas of Uttarakhand, Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir, due to which the effect of cold is being felt in the plains as well. Rain and snowfall in Uttarakhand has broken the record of the last 30 years. At the same time, change in weather is clearly visible in Delhi-NCR. In the beginning of October, people have started thinking of taking out warm clothes, but the question is whether the cold has really knocked?
What is the forecast of the weather department?
The Meteorological Department has predicted that the weather will remain clear in Delhi till October 11. As soon as the effect of western disturbance ends, there will be a slight increase in temperature and the cold will be felt less. After this, the humid heat may once again return in the capital and surrounding areas. This means that the cold that is being felt at the moment will not last long.
Slight decline in air quality
Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 100 on Thursday, which falls in the ‘satisfactory’ category. However, a day earlier it was 81 i.e. an increase of 19 points in 24 hours. Experts say that due to drop in temperature and decrease in wind speed, the pollution level may gradually increase in the coming days. Therefore, it will be important to keep an eye on the air quality in Delhi even before the onset of winter.
