Till stumps on the first day in the second test match, India has scored 318 runs at the loss of 2 wickets. In this match being played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, Team India had chosen to bat first. The hero of the first day was Yashasvi Jaiswal, who crossed the 150-run mark for the fifth time in his Test career. Till stumps he has scored 173 runs. Captain Shubman Gill is currently playing after scoring 20 runs.

Ahmedabad Test century-winner KL Rahul could not do wonders this time. Rahul was out after scoring 38 runs. After that, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudarshan tired the West Indies bowlers a lot. There was a partnership of 193 runs between them. Sudarshan scored 87 runs, which is his highest individual score in his 5-match Test career so far.

Team India lost the second wicket at the score of 251. Sudarshan was completely dodged by Jomel Warrican’s ball which rotated several degrees. After that, Jaiswal and Gill had a partnership of 67 runs till stumps on the first day.

Jaiswal’s big feat

Yashasvi Jaiswal is batting in the 48th innings of his Test career. In this short career, he has crossed the mark of 150 runs in an innings five times. If he is able to score a double century on the second day, it will be the third double century of his red-ball career. This is the second time that Jaiswal has touched the figure of 150 runs on the first day in a Test match. Earlier, he had scored 179 runs on the first day in the Vizag Test against England in 2024. West Indies bowlers struggled throughout the day. Jomel Warrican took both the wickets.

Talking about the three sessions of the first day, Team India lost only the wicket of KL Rahul in the first session and scored 94 runs. In the second session, the Indian team did not lose any wicket and scored a total of 126 runs. In the last session of the day, 98 runs were scored, but India lost the wicket of Sai Sudarshan.
