TLP’s Gaza march and clash in Lahore

Radical Islamic group Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) started its protest from Pakistan’s major city Lahore on Thursday (October 9, 2025). In fact, TLP had planned a massive protest outside the US embassy to protest the US-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas after two years of conflict. Although the TLP had initially carried out this demonstration to challenge the ceasefire, the TLP later said that now their focus has turned towards expressing solidarity with the Palestinians.

Thousands of people took out a rally with sticks and rods

According to AFP report, this protest moved towards Islamabad under the leadership of TLP chief Saad Rizvi. This rally started from the party headquarters on Multan Road, Lahore after the prayers on Friday (October 10, 2025). In this rally, thousands of people carrying sticks and rods were moving forward shouting Islamic slogans. At the same time, Pakistan police set up barricades at various places to stop the protesters and also fired tear gas shells. But a crowd of thousands started pelting stones at the police, after which the protest took a violent turn.

Violence spread to Islamabad and Rawalpindi

In many videos going viral on social media, protesters can be seen capturing government vehicles and destroying public property. After the protest in Lahore turned violent, violence spread to Islamabad and Rawalpindi also. The protesters started attacking the police with stones. At the same time, to stop people from moving forward, the police placed containers on the roads and fired tear gas shells at the protesters to disperse them.

According to Arab News, TLP has claimed that 11 of its supporters were killed and more than 50 were injured in the last three days. However, Pakistani officials have not commented on this yet.
