India defeated West Indies by 7 wickets in the second test played in Delhi and won the 2-match series 2-0. Spinner Kuldeep Yadav was adjudged the best player of the second test, he took 5 wickets in the first innings. He took 3 wickets in the second innings. All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja received the Player of the Series award.

India vs West Indies Ravindra Jadeja did not bat in the second test, but he performed effectively in bowling. He took a total of 3 wickets including both the openers (John Campbell and Tejnarine Chanderpaul) in the first innings of West Indies. Jadeja got only 1 wicket in the second innings. Jadeja was the player of the match in the first Test, scoring a century and taking 4 wickets in West Indies’ second innings.

Delhi’s pitch was favorable for batting, but West Indies batsmen got caught in the spin of Kuldeep Yadav in the first innings. He took 5 wickets in the first innings in the form of Alik Athanaz, Shai Hope, Tevin Imlach and Justin Greaves. He took 3 wickets in the second innings of West Indies, he made Roston Chase, Tevin Imlach and Khary Pierre his victims.
Yashasvi and Shubman Gill scored centuries in the first innings.
In the second test, India, batting first, declared the innings at 518/5. Yashasvi Jaiswal played a brilliant inning of 175 runs, in which he hit 22 fours. After this, Gill also completed his century, this was his 5th Test century as captain. West Indies’ first innings was all out at 248, after which India followed on and called the visiting team back to bat.
West Indies batted well in the second innings, the team scored 390 runs with the help of centuries from John Campbell (115) and Shai Hope (103). India had a target of 121 runs to win, chasing which KL Rahul played an unbeaten half-century (58). India won the second test by 7 wickets and won the series 2-0. This is Shubman Gill’s first test series win as captain.
