Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will soon be seen playing in the ODI series (IND vs AUS ODI Series) against Australia. His ‘future’ is more in discussion than his playing. Different claims are being made that the Australian tour could be the last international tour of Virat and Rohit. However, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla has rejected these rumours. Still, there are question marks over his playing in the 2027 ODI World Cup. Meanwhile, former cricketer Dinesh Karthik has given a big statement on the future of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Virat wants to play 2027 World Cup

Dinesh Karthik is also the batting coach and mentor of RCB. He is also a good friend of Virat Kohli. Karthik says that Virat Kohli is excited to play the 2027 World Cup and was practicing vigorously in London.

Former wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik shared a video clip on Instagram and said, “He is excited to play the 2027 World Cup and was practicing in London. He was practicing 2 to 3 times per week. This shows that he is very serious about playing the World Cup.”

Virat should be taken in the World Cup

In the same video, Dinesh Karthik said that considering Virat Kohli’s ODI form, he should be included in the plans for the 2027 World Cup. In the Champions Trophy 2025, Virat Kohli scored 218 runs at a strong average of 54.5. South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia are going to host the 2027 World Cup together. Virat’s ODI record in South Africa has been excellent. In 18 ODI innings played in South Africa, he has scored 993 runs at an excellent average of 76.38.
