They say in English, ‘Million Dollar Question’, the question of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli playing in the 2027 World Cup has only this much value at the moment. When Team India’s Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar was first asked a question about his playing in the World Cup, he did not give a clear answer. But now Agarkar has given a clear and simple answer that great cricketers like Rohit and Virat cannot be put on trial.

Will Virat-Rohit play 2027 World Cup?

Speaking to NDTV, Ajit Agarkar said, “They are currently part of the Indian squad for the Australia tour. I have said it before that both of them have been excellent players for a long time. I think this is not the time to talk about personal issues because we have to focus on building the team. We don’t know what the situation will be like after 2 years. Why talk only about them? A young player can also come in their place.”

He is on trial…

Ajit Agarkar was asked whether the performance of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be assessed in each series before the 2027 World Cup. On this, Ajit Agarkar said, “It would be strange and stupid to even think, because when one batsman’s average is more than 50 and the other is close to it, they cannot be kept on trial for every match, but the 2027 World Cup is still very far away.”

Agarkar also said that Virat and Rohit now play only one format and will be playing a match for India after 7 months. Agarkar clearly said that his performance will be assessed as soon as he starts playing.

Let us tell you that the first ODI match between India and Australia will be played in Perth on 19 October. After that, the last ODI will be played in Adelaide on 23 October and then in Sydney on 25 October.
