The first festival of lights i.e. Dhanteras was celebrated on Saturday 18 October 2025. On this day, people did a lot of shopping and in the evening worshiped Lord Dhanvantari and Goddess Lakshmi and got the blessings of happiness and prosperity.
Astrologer Anish Vyas told that, this year Deepotsav will not be for 5 but 6 days, in which Dhanteras will be celebrated for two days. That means, along with 18th October, you can celebrate Dhanteras on 19th October also.
According to the calendar, Dhanteras is celebrated on the Trayodashi date of Kartik Krishna Paksha. Trayodashi Tithi started on October 18 at 1:20 pm, which will continue till October 19 at 1:52 pm.
Today will be Trayodashi Tithi on Udayatithi and you can make purchases till 01:52 pm. You will get equal benefits from this also.
According to the astrologer, today, Sunday, October 19, the Choghadiya Muhurta was from 07:44 am to 9:09 am. After this, there will be Chaughadiya of profit from 09.10 am to 10.34 pm.
Amrit Choghadiya will be held on October 19 from 10:35 am to 12 noon. This time will also be auspicious for shopping. If for some reason you are not able to make Dhanteras purchases on October 18, you can do so today before 2 pm.
