A major accident occurred near Nashik Road railway station in Maharashtra late night on Saturday (18 October). Three passengers going home for Chhath Puja fell down from the train. In the accident, two people died on the spot and one was seriously injured. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police team reached the spot. The injured person was immediately admitted to the district hospital by ambulance where he is undergoing treatment.
The incident happened after the train missed
On Saturday night, the train moved from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Raxaul (Bihar) without stopping at Nashik Road railway station. After this, Station Manager of Odha Railway Station, Akash contacted Nashik Road Railway Department and informed that shortly after the departure of the train, three youths fell under the train in Dhikle Nagar area near Jail Road Hanuman Mandir.
Police reached the spot and started relief work.
On receiving information about the incident, Police Sub Inspector Mali, Police Constable Bhole and a team reached the spot under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Jitendra Sapkale of Nashik Road Police Station. Two youths aged between 30 to 35 years were found dead between km 190/1 and 190/3 on the track leading to Bhusaval. A young man was found seriously injured.
In critical condition, the young man was immediately admitted to the district government hospital by ambulance. The identity of the passengers has not been confirmed yet. Due to Chhath, there is huge crowd in trains going to North India. Therefore, preliminary information is coming out that this accident happened after falling from the train.
Police started investigation into the cause of the accident
At present, GRP and Nashik Road Police have started investigating the matter and the reasons for the accident are being ascertained.
