It is said that Shammi Kapoor was in love with Nutan since childhood. Nutan and Shammi grew up together because they were neighbours. Both were very close to each other and due to the good relationship between their families, their close relationship became stronger.

But then, Nutan’s mother Shobhana Samarth separated from her husband and she trusted her friend, actor Motilal, from whom she took advice and suggestions. Shammi and Geeta love story
Shammi Kapoor and Geeta Bali met in 1955 on the sets of the film ‘Rangeen Raatein’, which was being shot in Kumaon. Within a few weeks both of them fell in love with each other. After returning to Mumbai, both were hesitant in expressing their love.
On 23 August 1955, Geeta Bali suddenly proposed marriage and the next day, on 24 August 1955, Shammi Kapoor and Geeta Bali got married at Banganga Temple, Mumbai. Priest Hari Walia was the only witness at the wedding. Shammi had once told, “Geeta took out lipstick from her purse and asked me to apply it on her forehead.”
After marriage, Shammi and Geeta had two children, son Aditya Raj Kapoor and daughter Kanchan Kapoor. Aditya was born in 1956 and Kanchan was born in 1961.
