Uganda, a country in Africa, has been completely shaken by a horrific road accident on Wednesday (October 22, 2025). At least 63 people have died on the spot after a collision between buses and other vehicles in a horrific road accident in Uganda. Apart from this, many people have also been seriously injured in this terrible accident.

This painful road accident happened on Wednesday morning on the Kampala-Gulu Highway connecting Gulu city north of Uganda’s capital Kampala, when several small and big vehicles including a bus collided badly with each other. According to the local police, there has been massive loss of life and property after the collision between the vehicles.

Uganda police investigating road accident

Yungada Police started investigation into this tragic road accident. After initial investigation, local police informed that four other vehicles including two buses were victims of the accident. Regarding the reason behind the accident, the police said that the accident happened when a bus driver tried to overtake on the Kampala-Gulu Highway. But during this time the bus had a direct collision with a lorry coming from the opposite direction. After this sudden collision on the highway, many vehicles coming from behind again collided with each other and immediately there was an outcry on the highway.

Emergency workers engaged in relief and rescue operations

Regarding this matter, Kampala Police spokesperson said that relief and rescue teams have been deployed after the accident. The rescue team is actively engaged in rescuing the injured and trapped victims of the accident. The process of identifying those killed in the accident is ongoing and the injured are being treated at a hospital in Kiryandonge, a western town in Uganda.

Police officials said that the Kampala-Gulu Highway has been temporarily closed after this horrific and tragic accident. This is a very painful road accident, 63 people have died on the spot, many people are seriously injured. Due to this, there is mourning in many parts of the country.
