When will the Asia Cup trophy dispute be resolved? It is difficult to answer this question at the moment because according to media reports, BCCI has rejected Mohsin Naqvi’s demand. ACC and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had said that any player of BCCI or Team India can take the trophy from the hands of Dubai and ACC President. But Team India has already refused to accept the trophy from Naqvi’s hands.

Quoting India Today, a BCCI source has said that in view of the stubbornness of Asian Cricket Council Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the Board of Control for Cricket in India is going to raise this issue in the ICC meeting. The source said that the Indian board will not accept Mohsin Naqvi’s advice. The ICC meeting is to be held in Dubai from 4-7 September.

Earlier, an ACC meeting was held on September 30, in which BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla had expressed strong opposition to the actions of Mohsin Naqvi. Rajiv Shukla had said that the Asia Cup trophy is not anyone’s personal property and its real owner is Team India.

Recently, BCCE had requested Mohsin Naqvi through e-mail that the trophy should be given to Team India. On this, Indian Board Secretary Devjit Saikia said that if Naqvi does not give any answer on this, then BCCI will take this matter to ICC.

According to reports, in response to BCCI’s warning, Naqvi had said that he was ready to give the trophy, but he put a condition that for this a trophy presentation ceremony should be organized, in which he himself would give the trophy to the Indian team. But now BCCI has rejected this demand. At present the Asia Cup trophy is kept in the office of Asian Cricket Council in Dubai.
