Women’s Premier League 2026 auction (WPL 2026 Auction Date) can be organized in New Delhi. According to Cricbuzz, all the teams have been informed in this regard. It is being told that the auction can be conducted on 26th or 27th November. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet confirmed the date of the auction.
According to the report published in Cricbuzz, all the 5 teams Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants and UP Warriors have been informed about the date of the auction. Despite being a WPL mega auction, the auction can be conducted in a single day. Notices have been sent to all the teams that they will have to submit their retention lists by November 5.
Before the auction, each team will be able to retain 5 players. The price of the first player to be retained will be Rs 3.5 crore, while the retention price of the fifth and last player will be Rs 50 lakh. Each team can use five Right to Match cards (RTM), but the number of RTM cards will depend on the players retained by the team. The more players a team retains, the fewer RTM cards will be available.
Each team will have the freedom to retain 3 capped players. A team can retain only 2 foreign players. The price of retaining an uncapped player will be Rs 50 lakh and a franchise can retain two uncapped players. However, the price given to an uncapped player may be different from the amount of Rs 50 lakh.
Total purse and price of retained players
Each team will have a purse of Rs 15 crore in the auction, out of which Rs 9.25 crore will be spent on the 5 retained players.
First retention – 3.5 crores
Second retention – 2.5 crores
Third Retention – 1.75 crores
Fourth Retention – One Crore
Fifth retention – 50 lakhs
