Former wicketkeeper-batsman of the Indian cricket team, Parthiv Patel has said that Kuldeep Yadav may get a chance in India’s playing eleven in the third ODI against Australia. Kuldeep Yadav has not got a chance to play in the first 2 matches of the series.
Parthiv Patel said on GeoHotstar, “We will definitely see Kuldeep Yadav playing in the third ODI. As far as the combination is concerned, India will have to rely on their top order, whether it performs or not. There is no need for extra support in the batting. Kuldeep Yadav can provide the vital wickets in the middle overs which India are missing. If your top order batsmen get out early, then it is a part of the game. You can deal with it. Cannot add batsmen continuously to compensate. The focus should be on the best combination to win.”
He said in a light tone, “The support staff should make captain Shubman Gill practice the toss on the way to Sydney, because the toss has played a big role so far. The ball swung a lot, just like it did in Perth. However, Australia has won the series 2-0. I believe that India has played commendable cricket here, especially considering the limited time they had for preparation.”
Kuldeep Yadav was not played in Perth ODI. Australia had kept Adam Zampa in the playing eleven. They benefited from this. Zampa played an important role in Australia’s victory by taking 4 wickets and was the player of the match. If India had kept Kuldeep Yadav in the playing eleven, the result of the match could have been opposite. Kuldeep Yadav has taken 181 wickets in 113 ODIs.
