According to Reuters report, Pakistan has demanded financial assistance of $ 10 billion from the US Finance Minister through Bilateral Exchange Stabilization Support Facility and whose maturity is proposed to be kept for a maximum of five years.

Islamabad is seeking this help from America at a time when Pakistan is trying to recover from the effects of the most serious economic crisis of the last several decades, despite the ongoing bailout program of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Moreover, this request has been made after Pakistan tried to mediate during the war between America and Iran. At present, neither Pakistan nor America has issued any official statement on this issue. However, Pakistan Finance Minister Mohammad Aurangzeb said that in his meeting with Scott Besant this week, he raised the issue of risks to Pakistan’s economy due to regional geopolitical developments.
