Indian Army’s 46 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) foiled a major conspiracy by detecting an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Janbajpora area of Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. A potentially major accident was averted by timely action, because an army convoy was about to pass through this route.
According to Army sources, based on routine patrolling and intelligence input, 46 Rashtriya Rifles identified suspicious activity in Janbajpora area. During the search operation an IED was recovered on the roadside. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was immediately called to the spot. The expert team cordoned off the area and safely defused the explosive device following standard security procedures.
