bharat tiwari encounter (Bharat Tiwari Encounter) The judicial investigation in the case has formally gained momentum. The office of the Judicial Inquiry Commission has been established in the premises of the District Education Officer (DEO) office located in Arrah. Commission Chairman cum retired judge of Patna High Court Vinod Kumar Sinha reached the office on Wednesday (July 08, 2026). After meeting with the officials, further investigation has been started in the matter. The government has given the commission the responsibility to investigate the entire matter and submit its report within six months.
Speaking to the media, Justice Vinod Kumar Sinha said that the first objective of the investigation is to investigate the entire background, sequence of events and the direct and indirect circumstances that led to the incident. The second important point is to investigate the action taken by the police in Biloti village of Shahpur police station area on June 17 and, if necessary, fix the responsibility of the concerned officers and personnel.
The retired judge told that a few days ago he himself had gone to Biloti village and met the victim’s family. He said that it took some time for the necessary basic facilities to be available for the functioning of the Commission, after which the investigation has now been formally started.
It was informed that the Commission has also started issuing summons to the witnesses and the statements of important witnesses will be recorded soon. Vinod Kumar Sinha said that his effort will be to complete the testimony of key witnesses soon and an interim report can also be made available to the government in time.
Bharat’s family’s statement recorded in court
Here, with the commencement of the judicial investigation, Bharat Tiwari’s family was also presented in the Ara Vibhag Court. Amidst police security, Bharat Tiwari’s family (mother Asha Devi, brother Chandan Tiwari and sister-in-law Suman Devi) reached the court where their statement was recorded before the judge.

Bharat Tiwari’s mother Asha Devi became emotional after coming out of the court. He said that he has presented the entire incident from beginning to end before the judge. He said that his son used to do social service and such a young man was shot several times. Asha Devi said that she has demanded a fair investigation from the court and action against the culprits.
He reiterated that the family does not trust the investigation of Bihar Police. According to him, now there is hope of getting justice only through the judicial process. Bharat’s sister-in-law Suman Devi said that the truth will come out and whatever facts are there, they will be put forward during the investigation.
The family once again reiterated its previously announced demand and said that if concrete action is not taken towards justice, then a fast unto death will be started from July 9. The family says that their demand is only for a fair investigation and legal action against the culprits.
