Here in Mithila in Bihar, people eat meat in both happiness and sorrow. Maithil does not only mean Maithili Brahmin. The food habits of all the people living in Mithila are the same. My house is in Supaul. Ever since the earth was created, there is meat there. There is no cow slaughter, not even a single buffalo meat shop.

‘How can a mother be declared an animal?’
The BJP leader further said, “Now some clever Muslims are saying that we should declare it (cow) as an animal. They are not seeing so much emotion that the one whom Hindus consider as mother, in whom they say that 38 crore Gods and Goddesses reside, should be declared an animal. How can a mother be declared an animal? Will someone be able to slaughter a cow in UP during the reign of Yogi ji? Will anyone be able to slaughter a cow in Bihar during the reign of Samrat ji?”
‘The entire country should say in one voice that cow protection should be done’
Shahnawaz Hussain also said, “It is said in the media that beef is being exported and donations are being taken from it. That buffalo meat is being exported. In Nepal, buffaloes are offered to Pashupati Nath. They are sacrificed in Durga Puja. There is false propaganda about the Bharatiya Janata Party that they will stop non-veg. We are not people who are forced to eat and drink…the emotions should be respected. In the name of cow protection.” No one should be targeted in the name of cow protection. The entire country should say in one voice that there should be cow protection.
