China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi described the meeting with India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval as very important. Bilateral relations and global cooperation were discussed in the meeting between the two. On Tuesday (June 23, 2026), the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi issued a statement regarding this.

He said that the two countries should implement the important agreements reached between their leaders through concrete steps, so that development and modernization can be accelerated through cooperation, especially in the context of development of the Global South.
Wang also said it is necessary to respect each other’s core interests and sensitive issues should be handled appropriately. He stressed that the China-India border issue should be kept in such a way that it does not affect the overall bilateral relations.

He also urged both the countries to develop a true understanding among different sections of the society so that public opinion and social base can be strengthened and help in improving relations. China appreciated India’s role during its BRICS chairmanship. Also expressed desire to work together with India for the development and expansion of the organization.

Regarding the meeting, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MES) wrote on the social media platform ‘X’, ‘National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met Communist Party of China (CPC) Politburo member and Foreign Minister Wang Yi during the BRICS NSA meeting in New Delhi.’ According to the ministry, both expressed satisfaction over the progress made in bilateral relations. The conversation between the two leaders was constructive and many important issues were discussed keeping the future in mind.
