- CBSE 12th supplementary exam will be held on 15th July 2026.

CBSE has released important information regarding Class 12th Supplementary Examination 2026. For those students who have got compartment in any subject or who want to improve their marks, this examination has brought another opportunity for them. Through this examination, students can try to improve their performance. The board has also given information regarding the exam date, application process and other rules.
According to CBSE, 12th class supplementary examination will be conducted on 15 July 2026. This examination has been kept for those students who have got compartment in the main examination or who want to improve their marks in any one subject. The examination will be conducted on the same day so that students can get the results quickly.
Which students can appear in the examination?
Many categories of students can appear in this examination. Students who have passed Class 12 in 2026 and want to improve marks in any one subject can apply. Apart from this, students who got compartment in 2026 can also participate in it. At the same time, compartment students of 2025, for whom this is the last opportunity, can also take the exam. If a student fails in more subjects than the prescribed limit, he will be placed in the essential repeat category. Such students will have to re-appear in all subjects in the next academic session.

Application Process and LOC Submission
The process of submission of List of Candidates (LOC) by CBSE will start from June 2, 2026. This process will be completed online through schools. The board has clearly stated that once the information is submitted, no addition or deletion of subject or student name will be allowed. Therefore, schools and students will have to fill the information carefully.
Exam Syllabus and Result
The syllabus of supplementary examination will remain the same which was applicable during the main board examination 2026. Students do not need to worry about any new pattern or new syllabus. According to reports, the result of supplementary examination can be released in the month of July.
This time there was a decline in pass percentage
This year there was some decrease in the overall pass percentage of CBSE Class 12. This time the pass percentage was slightly less as compared to last year. However, the board has continued its decision not to release the merit list as usual. Its objective is said to be to reduce unnecessary competition among students.
