The film had a slow start but it got the benefit of Saturday and Sunday holidays and hence, its earnings saw a jump on the opening weekend.

Chand Mera Dil is produced by Karan Johar, Aadar Poonawala, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra and Marijke D’Souza. Tushar Paranjape and Vivek Soni have written the screenplay of the film. The film revolves around two characters who meet during their college days in Hyderabad, who fall in love and soon struggle with an unwanted pregnancy. The girl decides to keep the child and the two get married, however, their relationship soon begins to fall apart due to pressure and disappointment. An altercation turns violent and this marks a turning point in the story.
