8th Pay Commission: The two-day meeting of the Eighth Pay Commission is starting from today in Lucknow. During this, face to face talks will be held with representatives of various organizations, railways and defense personnel for central employees, pensioners, employees and pensioners of Uttar Pradesh region.

Now where will the next meetings take place?

After Lucknow, the next meetings of the Commission are proposed in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on July 6-7 and Kolkata on July 9-10. Earlier, meetings have been held in Delhi, Ladakh, Srinagar. Meanwhile, officials of different central government employee organizations, who are in constant touch with the 8th CPC (Pay Commission) team, say that the government can release the 8th Pay Commission report by March 2027. He believes that the possibility of the report being implemented in the first half of 2027 cannot be ruled out because the work of the 8th Pay Commission is progressing rapidly.

Will the report really come in the first half of 2027?

Looking at the speed with which the Commission is currently visiting the states and taking suggestions from employee organizations, it can be said that the Commission can submit its report before mid-2027 (May 2027). However, the final decision on this will be taken only after the government’s review.

What are experts saying?

According to the report of The Economic Times, Manjit Singh Patel, National President of All India NPS Employees Federation, believes that the 8th Pay Commission can submit its report before the announcement of the budget, i.e. by January 2027. However, the salary hike may be available from April 2027 as it may take another 1-2 months for the report to be approved.

The deadline for online submission of suggestions and memorandum on the Commission’s website (8cpc.gov.in) has finally ended on June 15, 2026, after being extended twice. Now Sara’s entire focus is on meetings and preparing reports.

Manjeet Patel further says, “AINPSEF along with its partner organizations is in constant touch with the Commission. We are confident that the Commission will submit its report to the Central Government before the Budget of 2027 and employees and pensioners can get increased salary and pension from April 2027.
