The continuously increasing education fees and expensive technical courses in the country have become a big concern for many families today. Especially the education expenses of daughters doing engineering, diploma and other technical courses often become a burden on the parents’ pockets. But now a special scheme of the government has brought relief for thousands of girl students. The name of this scheme is AICTE Pragati Scholarship Scheme, under which financial assistance of up to Rs 50 thousand is being given to daughters every year.
This scheme is being considered no less than a boon for those girls who are good in studies but lack of money becomes a hindrance in the path of their dreams. The government wants that the daughters of the country should also progress in technical education and become self-reliant. With this thinking in mind, this scholarship scheme has been started.
Get 50 thousand every year
In this scheme run by AICTE i.e. All India Council for Technical Education, girl students are given assistance of Rs 50 thousand every year. This amount can be used to pay college fees, buy books, buy a laptop and other important expenses.
In today’s time, the cost of laptop and digital studies during technical studies has also increased a lot. In such a situation, this scholarship is proving to be of great help to the girl students and their families.

For how many years is the benefit available?
This scheme of the government is not limited to just one year’s help. If a student is doing a degree course then she can get the benefit of this scheme for four years. Whereas girl students doing diploma are given assistance for three years. Girl students who take admission directly in the second year through lateral entry can also take advantage of this scheme.
Who can apply?
Some necessary conditions have been set to avail the benefits of this scheme. First of all, the student applying must be a girl. Also, the college in which admission has been taken should be recognized by AICTE. The annual income of the family should not be more than Rs 8 lakh. Apart from this, only maximum two daughters of a family can avail the benefit of this scholarship. The student must have taken admission in the first year of degree or diploma course. Whereas students with lateral entry can apply from second year onwards.
Application process completely online
The government has made the application process very easy so that girl students do not have to visit any office. Application is made completely online. For this, girl students have to register on the National Scholarship Portal. After this, select “AICTE Pragati Scholarship Scheme” and fill the application form. Along with the form, 10th-12th marksheet, income certificate, fee receipt and other necessary documents have to be uploaded. After the application is submitted, the documents are scrutinized by the college.
