- Delhi University released the new academic calendar for 2026-27.
- Odd semester classes will start from 28th July 2026.
- Exams from December 2026, even semesters from January 2027.

Delhi University has released the new academic calendar for the academic session 2026-27. In this, the date of commencement of classes, schedule of examinations and complete schedule of holidays of both UG and PG courses are mentioned. In such a situation, this calendar is going to be very important for all the new and old students.
According to the released calendar, studies of Semester-I, III, V and VII will start from 28 July 2026. That means, regular classes of the new session will start from this day itself. Whereas classes for Semester-II, IV, VI and VIII will start from January 1, 2027.
Autumn vacation will be available in October
In between studies, students will also get autumn vacation in October. According to the university, there will be holidays from October 18 to October 25, 2026. After this, regular classes will start again from October 26.
Exam preparation will start from November
Regular classes for odd semester students will end from November 20, 2026. The period of Preparatory Leave and practical examinations will also begin from this day. After this, theory examinations will be conducted from December 4, 2026.
Winter vacation in late December
After the theory examinations, students will also get winter holidays at the end of the year. The university has declared winter vacation from December 25 to December 31, 2026. Even semester studies will start with the beginning of the new year.
Complete schedule of even semester also released
Delhi University has also released the schedule of even semester starting from January 2027. According to this, classes will start from January 1, 2027. There will be mid-semester vacation from March 21 to March 28, 2027, while studies will resume from March 29.

After this, preparation leave and practical examinations will start with the end of classes from 30th April 2027. Theory examinations will be conducted from May 13, 2027. After the completion of the examination, students will get summer vacation from 3rd June to 20th July 2027.
Consideration of increasing summer vacation also
The university has also informed that the summer vacation of 2025-26 session may be extended to implement the new academic calendar. At present the holidays are scheduled till July 20, but if necessary, they can be extended till July 27, 2026. With this, the new session can be started as per the schedule.
