Eggs and stones were thrown at Mahua Moitra, she shared the video and said – ‘I am injured, the police is watching the scene’

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra said on Wednesday (July 1) that during a meeting with party workers in Bengal, some people threw eggs, due to which she got injured. He claimed that he was attacked and blamed BJP workers for the incident.

The TMC MP alleged that West Bengal Police personnel were present there, but they did not interfere. Mahua Moitra wrote on X that BJP goons are attacking me and Bengal Police is watching the show. He has also shared a video of the incident site.

In the video shared by the TMC MP, people are seen throwing eggs at the window of the building from inside which the MP’s voice can be heard. It is also seen in the footage that people are screaming after eggs were hit on the window.

Police accused of not taking action
In another video message sent to Bengal DGP Siddharth Nath Gupta, Mahua Moitra alleged that during a party meeting in a private office in her parliamentary constituency, a crowd gathered outside and eggs and stones were thrown there, due to which she got injured when she went near the window. Mahua claimed that she had called the DGP and informed him about the location, but despite the arrival of the police, she did not disperse the crowd and just stood and watched the incident.

Attacks on TMC leaders increased
Let us tell you that in recent weeks many such incidents have happened with TMC leaders in West Bengal. According to reports, the series of such incidents started with the attack on TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee. On May 30, eggs were thrown at him while he was on his way to Sonarpur to meet families affected by the alleged post-poll violence.

In the video, the crowd was seen misbehaving and pushing the TMC leader while shouting slogans. Abhishek termed the incident as political violence and state-sponsored terrorism and thanked Rahul Gandhi for supporting him.
