Speaking candidly about relationships, the actress admitted that a one-time ‘mistake’ can sometimes be forgiven.
What did Rakul Preet Singh say about infidelity in relationships?
Let us tell you that recently, Rakul gave an interview to Mashable India during the promotion of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do along with Sara Ali Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana. During this he discussed the issue of infidelity. When Rakul was asked whether cheating in a relationship could be justified, she immediately replied ‘no’.
On this Sara intervened and said that at least “an apology should be made, but this is not right at all.” Rakul agreed with this. However, Ayushmann had a different point and said, “Marriage has its own rules. Also, if a sincere apology has been given, then why not?” After this Rakul said, “It also depends on to what extent the infidelity has happened… to what extent? If cheating has become a habit…” Before Rakul could complete her statement, Sara interrupted her and asked if cheating once can be considered justified? Rakul said that she does not find this justified.
‘Life is too long to not forgive mistakes…’
Rakul further said, “But if someone has made a mistake once, then life is very long and it is not right not to forgive for one mistake… After this, she jokingly said that this does not apply to my personal relationship. Please note.” Ayushmann also said something similar, “Humans make mistakes. But if they are genuinely apologetic, and if you have empathy for that person… then life is very long.” On this, Sara said that she can forgive, but cannot forget, to which Rakul said that she feels that if someone forgives, then eventually he has to forget.
This incident has happened a few days after Rakul and her husband Jackky Bhagnani came under the scanner for personal life, when Jackky had made a ‘situationship’ comment about their marriage.
