Lucknow Super Giants bought Rishabh Pant for Rs 27 crore last year and made him their captain, but he could not justify his price in both the seasons. He scored a total of 312 runs in 13 innings played in IPL 2026. His average was 28.36 and strike rate was 138. Only one half-century came from his bat. This year he even started the innings and came at number three but it did not work.
It is believed that Lucknow Super Giants may also remove him from the captaincy before the upcoming season. This year, under his captaincy the team won only 4 out of 14. The team remained at the bottom (10th) in the points table.

Chennai Super Kings had retained young South African batsman Dewald Brevis for Rs 2 crore 20 lakh, he had the responsibility of handling the middle overs but he was a flop. Sunrisers Hyderabad bought Liam Livingston for a huge amount of Rs 13 crore. This England all-rounder was given a chance in the first 2 matches but due to poor form, SRH put him on the bench and has not played yet. Livingston scored 15 runs in 2 innings, got out after scoring 14 runs against LSG and just 1 run against CSK.
Shimron Hetmyer
Rajasthan Royals retained Shimron Hetmyer for a price of Rs 11 crore. The bat of the explosive batsman of West Indies has appeared silent this year. He played 8 matches, scoring 78 runs in 7 innings at an average of 13. His highest score is 22 runs.

Lucknow Super Giants had retained Aiden Markram at a price of Rs 2 crore. This South African batsman looked out of form in IPL 2026, he scored a total of 231 runs in 11 innings.
