What is in the viral video?
In this video going viral, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is telling about an investment plan. In which she tells about an investment platform and says that it is a government program. Through which Rs 22 thousand can be invested and up to Rs 70 thousand can be received as returns. However, now the truth of this video has also come to light.

What is the truth of the video?
This video has been shared through the official X account of government agency PIB. In which it is clearly written that this is a FAKE video. While sharing this video, the caption has been written, ‘Avoid investment fraud. A video embedded in an advertisement running on Facebook falsely implies that Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is endorsing an investment platform that claims to give returns of up to Rs 70,000 per day on an investment of Rs 22,000.

Further, PIB Fact Check has termed this video as false and has written, ‘This video is completely fake and has been made with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Neither Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman nor the Government of India has endorsed, permitted or promoted any such investment scheme or platform.

People should stay safe from fraud
While alerting the people, PIB has written, ‘Thugs often deceive people online by luring them with fake videos and unusually high returns. Always verify such claims from official government sources before making any investments or sharing your personal and financial information. Be cautious, think before you click.
