Big news has come for the youth preparing for government jobs. Border Roads Organization i.e. BRO has released the notification of General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) Recruitment 2026. Under this recruitment drive, eligible candidates will be recruited on a total of 899 posts. The information about this recruitment was released on the official website of BRO on 21 May 2026. In this recruitment, 10th and 12th pass candidates have also been given the opportunity to apply, due to which a lot of enthusiasm is being seen among the youth.
According to the notification issued by BRO, recruitment will be done on different technical and non-technical posts. These include posts like Draftsman, Hindi Typist, Store Keeper Technical, Operator Communication, Operator Excavating Machinery and Electrician. The eligibility criteria for each post has been decided separately. For the post of Draftsman, the candidate must have passed 12th with Science subject. Apart from this, there should be a 2 year certificate in Architecture or Draftsmanship. Candidates who have certificate and experience in Draftsman (Civil) trade can also apply.
What qualification is required?
For the post of Hindi Typist, it is necessary to have 12th pass. Also, Hindi typing speed on computer should be 30 words per minute. For the post of Store Keeper Technical, 12th pass qualification is also required and the candidate should have knowledge of engineering equipment or storage of vehicles.
10th pass youth have also got a big opportunity in this recruitment of BRO. For the post of Operator Communication, the candidate must have passed 10th. Along with this, there should be a certificate of Wireless Operator or Radio Mechanic from ITI. Whereas for the post of Operator Excavating Machinery (OEM), license to drive heavy vehicle, dozer or excavator and at least 6 months experience has been sought. For the post of Electrician, 10th pass along with Auto Electrician certificate from ITI and 1 year experience is required.

age limit
Talking about age limit, the minimum age for all posts has been fixed at 18 years and maximum age at 27 years. Age will be calculated on the basis of June 1, 2026. Reserved category candidates will be given age relaxation as per government rules. Government employees will get relaxation up to 40 years and SC/ST category government employees will get relaxation up to 45 years. Whereas disabled candidates have been given additional relaxation of 10 years in the upper age limit.
how much salary
Talking about salary, the post of Draftsman will get salary ranging from Rs 5200 to Rs 20200 and grade pay Rs 2800. Whereas posts like Hindi Typist, Store Keeper Technical, Operator and Electrician will be given 1900 grade pay with salary ranging from Rs 5200 to Rs 20200.
