Hardik decided to shift to Bengaluru due to BCCI’s Center of Excellence (COE). He now wants to make COE a permanent base for his training. Cricketers often come to Bengaluru for injury rehab, national camp and fitness assessment. But Hardik did something different.
Used to practice in Mumbai Indians facility
However, Hardik mainly used to train at Mumbai Indians’ facility located in Ghansoli. Hardik comes from Baroda, Gujarat. Although he was living in Mumbai for a long time, but now he decided to make Bengaluru his home.
BCCI source revealed the secret
A BCCI source told news agency PTI on condition of anonymity, “Hardik has already shifted to Bengaluru permanently. He has rented a property near the Center of Excellence on the outskirts of the city. He will be the first cricketer to make COE his permanent base of practice.”
Further added, “Hardik wanted to move out of Mumbai as it had become difficult to commute from his house in Lower Parel every day for training. Being a centrally-contracted cricketer, he gets all kinds of facilities at the COE, from injury treatment to skills training.”
Hardik Pandya troubled by injury
These days, Hardik, who is recovering from injury, has spent a lot of time in the last 6 months at the Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. Due to injury, he could not be a part of the White Ball Tour of UK, in which T20 series was played against Ireland. Now there is to be a T20 and ODI series against England.
